Why Multiple Practice Locations ?

Celtic Thunder is unlike any other Pipe-Band organization. Our goal is to Share the "Gift"

of bagpipe music with as many people as we can by offering Free Lessons. As we grow

and as our resources grow, so will our practice locations.

We are an Entry level Pipe-Band organization. Which simply means that we are willing to

teach you from scratch how to play the bagpipes or drums so that you can enjoy being a

part of a Unique Pipe-Band, Enjoy the Music and Share the Music.

From Palmer: Cumberland Farms will be on your right. Go through the traffic light

As you go around the first right bend you will see a white church on the right hand side

of the road. Our Practice Hall is the white building to the right of the Church.

From Sturbridge: After the dual lane highway you will come around a right hand bend in the road. Look for the white Church on the left hand side of the road.

If you're facing the Church, our Practice Hall is the white building to the right.

From the Mass Turn Pike: Take Exit 5; Go through the toll booth and stay to

your right, you'll come out to Memorial Drive; Take a Left onto Memorial Drive

and proceed to your second rotary (Castle of Knights will be on your right);

Take a Left at the rotary (shopping center will be on your left); the road will

come to a split; Bear to your Right and proceed to the traffic light ( Buffalo Club

will be on your Right; make a Right turn onto Mountcalm St. and the Church

will be on your Right; about four houses down.

Out of a Dream came a Celtic Lion, Roaring from the clouds like Thunder.

Please come in and let us tell you the story of the Blue Celtic Lion.

Out of a Dream came a Celtic Lion, Roaring from the Clouds like Thunder.

The Celtic Lion showed us the Vision of a Pipe-Band of All Children,

A Place where Children could begin their quest into the Wonderful World of Bagpiping.

The Celtic Lion told us that he would be there every step of the way throughout our journey,

So that we could Learn the Music and have Fun with it,

and so that we could share our music with you, America.

The Celtic Lion is our symbol,

it represents the Passion of Sharing the "Gift" of bagpipe music and true Strength & Honor.

This new venture is more than just a Pipe-band, it is a Journey into the Future.

Through Celtic Thunder we are creating the First Youth Pipe-Band in Massachusetts.

As we begin the journey with our Friend the Celtic Lion,

We are beginning to meet some new friends with each step we take.

The Celtic Lion is preparing a very special "Gift" for us which we will share with you very soon.

I asked the Celtic Lion what name can we call you?

And the Lion said; call me Celtic Thunder, because with the gifts we share, we are a team of one.

Our Special "Gift" has Arrived. It is our very own bagpipe tune.

The name of our Tune is called "Celtic Thunder"

It was Composed by our Founding Pipe-Major Billy Dart.

As he closed his eyes, he could visualize the dream as the Celtic Lion

began his journey from a jungle of clouds into reality and he could see

all of the Children with Pipes & Drums, Smiles On Their Faces

and Sparkles In Their Eyes as they lead the way, piping a tune to share with you.

So he wrote it down in the form of bagpipe music, to tell our story.

When you hear our tune, you will know that it is we who are approaching.

And if you close your eyes, you may just see our Celtic Lion,

As he is with us with each step we take...

We Hope You Enjoy Our Tune, As it is Our Gift To You.

Now we have two Pipe-Bands, the Celtic Thunder Youth Pipe-Band

and the Celtic Thunder Pipes & Drums, this is the band we will move up to when we reach 18.

And the time came for us to begin performing in public,

Some may say that we're just not quite ready yet,

But Celtic Thunder says into the trenches we go,

With Strength and with Courage, for to get to where we're going,

it's into the trenches we go.

So into the trenches we went, performing with what little we had.

Our performances have been going very well, progressing each time we go out.

And so the Celtic Lion said to stay the course, to "Focus" and to "Autograph our Piping with Excellence".
