STRENGTH & HONOR

The Celtic Thunder Competition Team consists of members from the Celtic Thunder Youth Pipe-Band and the Celtic Thunder Pipes & Drums.

We are still very much an American Show Pipe-Band, only now we have added a competition team to the realm for the purpose of satisfying the needs and

wants of players who look forward to the challenges of the competition circuit.

As a Team we are approaching this new venture with excitement and doing our homework to present well in the competition circle.  Our belief is that in

order to make this happen, we will approach it with balance and leverage.  Members of the band who choose to compete with the team must spend much

more time practicing and perfecting required tunes; they will spend countless hours working on exercises, timing and embellishments.

They will learn how to get the  best sound from their instruments and work on bringing it all together for band unison.  The team will set its goals, work as a

Team with the goal to play as one band, one sound.  The Challenge will draw out the personal best of each individual Player.

This is a new venture for Celtic Thunder and we are approaching it as we do with our Show Pipe-Bands; we are taking it very serious with the objective to

enter the competition circuit in the Spring of 2009.  It will be a Challenge for the team, but we'll make sure we keep it Fun.  We will learn and we will pass

our knowledge onto the members of both the Celtic Thunder Youth Pipe-Band and the Celtic Thunder Pipes & Drums so that we will be able to present

the Best Show for you the American People. For those who "Stay The Course" and "Hold The Line" they will become Outstanding Pipers & Drummers.

Members of the competition team wear the Modern MacEwan Tartan kilt civilian uniform during competitions.
