What Makes Us Different Than Other Pipe-Bands in the Area ?

We're a FAMILY Oriented Pipe-Band Organization

It's Amazing how many members of this Pipe-Band organization are related. We highly encourage it and

it's a Great hobby to have as a Family. That's part of the magic of this Pipe-Band. Many of our activities

are geared towards Family structured events. We have over 70 members in the band and the majority of

them do have a relative in the band as well.

Two Pipe-Bands

We are actually two Pipe-Bands located in various towns throughout Western Massachusetts.

Celtic Thunder Youth Pipe-Band is the First Youth Pipe-Band in Massachusetts and Celtic Thunder Pipes

& Drums is an Adult Pipe-Band, which works well because when a member of the Youth Pipe-Band turns

18 years old, they can still continue on with the Fun.

A Competition Team

Celtic Thunder now hosts a Pipe-Band Competition Team for those interested in the Challenge of

competing as a team. Being a part of this team will draw out the Pipers personal best.

Multiple Practice Locations

Our practice locations will always continue to expand into different areas to share the "Gift" of bagpipe

music. Because we expand into many locations our membership will increase at a rapid rate, yet each

location is small enough for us to focus more on the development of the individual musician.

Fun & Easy Learning

Our Teaching / Learning Technique is unlike any other Pipe-Band in the area. Through years of research

and study we have created a structured teaching technique that advances the bagpipe student at a rapid

rate and with proficiency. Students learn in a Relaxed and Enjoyable atmosphere and we make it Fun.

Associate Members Organization

You don't have to play an instrument to be a part of the Largest Pipe-Band Organization in Western MA.

If you like Pipe-Band music and like to be a part of the Fun, This is the Pipe-Band for you. The Associate

Members have a lot of fun and play a very important role in building and supporting Celtic Thunder.

We're Not Your Average Pipe-Band

Yes, we do teach and practice the traditional Pipe-Band stuff, However... We get more creative than the

Traditional Pipe-Bands by many means; We're playing with other Musicians that you would not typically

see performing with a Pipe-Band such as Flutists, Violinists, Recorders, Clarinets and many other musical

instruments. We experiment with the music probably more so than the traditional Pipe-Band for a more

magical feel to the music. We accept members as young as 5 years old. With Celtic Thunder, you don't

have to be a musician to be a member of the band, just a Bagpipe and Drum Music Enthusiast.
